I’ve been a big fan of the pop-tastic lyricism that CHVRCHES has graciously provided to the general public. For those of you who didn’t get blasted with the wave of The Mother We Share last year, check it out embedded below:
Packing just as much of a punch, the title track off of CHVRCHES’ – as of now – unreleased EP, Recover, brings the heavy hitting snare and bubble-gum vocals back into the indie-pop limelight. Lauren Mayberry sheds beautiful underrated lyrics into the kinetic pop soundscape created by the masters of synth: Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. This will be CHVRCHES first EP, to be released on March 26th, after a slew of singles this past year. Needless to say, I’m excited to see where the band goes next. With a sound described with “electro-pop that shimmers only when the tears are washed from its speaker cones” the Scottish alternative electronic band from Glasgow can only blow up from here.
