Album Release Party 3/20 at Neumos: RA Scion’s ‘Sharper Tool; Bigger Weapon’

Looking for a way to celebrate the end of finals next week? Look no further. Next Thursday marks the release party for RA Scion’s new album, Sharper Tool; Bigger Weapon. The Seattle Emcee of former Common Market has teamed up with the Seattle electronic artist Vox Mod for production on this new project.

The release party will be at Neumos next Thursday, 3/20, and doors open at 8. The cover charge is $10, and guest Marcus Medeiros, Imprints, and Gran Rapids will make an appearance.

On his website the album is described as a “warrior style epic… lush and rich in texture, expansive and purposeful in its scope; an honest, impassioned reflection on the nature of the human condition and a bold declaration for the enduring spirit of man.” Heavy stuff…

RA Scion has branched off into many new styles since his days of collaborating with Sabzi for Common Market, releasing three albums over the past couple years. Each album is marked by his trademark no holds barred style, whether it’s on his most recent album Adding to the Extra or his concept work under his “superhero pseudonym” Victor Shade. Each is an example of how RA Scion can showcase his raw, powerful lyrics over multiple styles.

The new video for one of the tracks off the upcoming album, “Fixed”, demonstrates his poignant lyrics that always pack a punch. Vox Mod has created an eerie, mysterious sound that allows the lyrics to cut across the beat with relentless drive.
